This semester we have been given the freedom to work on independent projects. Daisy, Paul, and I have continued to work with our community partner. In this first two week block, our goals included-
1. Making an official To-do list 2. Reaching out to contacts that our partner sent us 3. Communicating with our counselors about what we are planning to do 4. Continue to reach out to different stakeholders that will have an effect on the video/convocation For these two weeks, we did foresee a couple barriers. Unfortunately, we have experienced slow communication from stakeholders and outside resources that are crucial to moving forward in this project. Although we realize that everyone communicates at their own pace, it can be frustrating knowing that for this project to lift off the ground, it needs to be working at a faster rate. Another setback that we predicted was a lack of interest from the stakeholders. We came to the conclusion that the stakeholders who we reached out to are interested, but they have other priorities besides CurioCity that they must balance. Looking at what we set out to do this week and what we actually did, I was impressed. This week we- 1. Completed the To-do list 2. Set up a meeting with guidance (scheduled for 1/28) 3. Planned/scheduled meeting at Launch Fishers (scheduled for 1/28) 4. Sent out mass emails regarding the scheduled meeting 5. Created questions for the meeting 6. Scheduled meeting with potential video coordinator (scheduled for 2/1) So, despite the barriers I mentioned before, I feel like we made strides in the right direction. Looking at the next two weeks, I am looking to branch out and split up my time with this project. I have other passions that I want to follow this semester. CurioCity is a great project, but it is moving slowly. I want to be able to work on my other projects simultaneously, because I know they will keep me busy in and out of class while I can work with CurioCity as needed. I am eager to reboot my Youtube channel, and go at it with a different approach. I am also wanting to put on a social experiment on Instagram which is still in the brainstorming stage of things, because I don't know what I will do with the information I gain. To do this, I will have to make sure I create an appropriate balance of time so I don't leave CurioCity out to dry or ignore my Youtube channel either. Stay nutty, Hazel
