Vlogging? Blogging? What is going on?
This semester we have the opportunity to chose our own path. To put this semester in perspective, it is similar to a "passion project" or "Genius Hour". As students, we have been encouraged to follow our passion and make a project out of it. When I became aware of how the second semester would go down, I felt an array of emotions. First I was confident in what I wanted to do, then I was scared, got nervous, then I calmed myself down, got excited, felt lost, and after all of that, I finally decided what I wanted to do. I want to teach myself how to style, cut, and color hair. Essentially, I want to teach myself how to become a beautician. My late mother was the best hairstylist the world has ever seen, and she inspired my appreciation of the art. I recall the countless hours of myself looking up hair tutorials when I was in Junior High. I would spend my time practicing on one of her old mannequin heads. Even though I want to become a High School teacher when I'm older, and that is what I want to go to college for, nothing is stopping me from following through with my dream of doing hair. Who says I can't do it on the weekends and during the summers? For this semester, I will be teaching myself how to do hair. Along with that, I will document it on my YouTube Channel and here for reflections and progress updates. I am ecstatic about this, and I hope you guys are too. Catch you on the flippety flop, Hazel.
